Do I need a dedicated circuit for a home EV charger?

Yes. A home wallbox charger requires its own dedicated 32A circuit run back to your consumer unit. This ensures safe, reliable charging and is required by BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Is there a government grant available for EV charger installation?

The EV Chargepoint Grant provides up to £350 towards the cost of a home charger for eligible properties. We’re OZEV-registered and can advise you on whether your property and vehicle qualify during our free site survey.

How long does installation take?

Most home charger installations are completed in three to four hours. More complex jobs — such as those requiring armoured cable runs across outbuildings or DNO applications for apartments — may take longer.

Can I get an EV charger if I don’t have a garage?

Yes. Chargers can be mounted on an external wall, a post set in the driveway, or inside a carport. We’ll recommend the best location and cable route during the site survey.
